Scott joined other prominent legal recruiting experts in suggesting that pay transparency is likely to have the greatest impact on law firm attorneys that fall outside firms’ traditional lockstep compensation models, especially of counsel attorneys. “The minute that attorneys are off the associate scale, that’s where there’s a lot more variance of how law firm employers compensate their counsel,” said Scott. “I could see that really leading to an increase in counsel salary compensation.”
