Lauren F. Gizzi is a Managing Director at Empire Search Partners in New York. Lauren helps attorneys achieve their long-term career goals by providing unbiased and bespoke career advice – the type of consultation she wanted when she was as an associate. Lauren works with attorneys of all seniorities in a variety of practice areas according to their interests, including both law firm and in-house roles.
Lauren spent five years as a litigation associate at Sullivan & Cromwell before making a lateral move to DLA Piper, where she practiced for over two years. Lauren litigated a diverse mix of cases—from professional liability matters related to the Madoff fraud to a consumer protection class action for SoulCycle. She served as a key member of a trial team that obtained a complete defense verdict in an eight-week jury trial, relieving the client of $460 million in potential liability.
Lauren understands the intense pressure under which attorneys operate. As someone that has gone through the lateral interviewing and hiring process herself, Lauren has the unique ability to advise her clients from her first-hand experience.
Lauren received her J.D. cum laude from the Columbus School of Law at Catholic University, where she served as Associate Editor for the Catholic University Law Review. Lauren’s comment, State Menu-Labeling Legislation: A Dormant Giant Waiting to be Awoken by Commerce Clause Challenges, was published in the Law Review’s Winter 2009 issue.
Prior to law school, Lauren spent two years working at the U.S. Supreme Court as a Marshal’s Aide and Aide to the Chambers of Justice Samuel Alito. Lauren graduated from Marquette University with a B.A. in political science and history.
