Caroline Waters is a Managing Director at Empire Search Partners in Washington, DC. Before joining Empire Search, Caroline spent a decade recruiting and integrating attorneys at all levels and across a variety of practice areas for several top global law firms; most recently with Latham & Watkins where she managed all facets of the recruiting, hiring and integration processes for lateral partners and counsels globally across all practice and department sectors.

Prior to her experience at Latham, Caroline gained extensive experience in the recruitment and placement of entry level and lateral associates at Cooley, Norton Rose Fulbright and Hogan Lovells. Caroline’s unique experience and perspective from working within the recruitment departments at several of the world’s most elite law firms has provided her with deep market expertise in addition to insider knowledge of law firms’ recruiting and hiring strategies. She applies this knowledge, perspective and expertise when counseling and navigating her candidates and clients through their professional searches to ensure a smooth and professional experience while achieving successful outcomes for both candidates and employers.

In addition to Caroline’s market expertise and insider law firm recruiting knowledge, she also has deep-rooted relationships within the Washington, DC recruiting community. She was a member of the Washington Area Legal Recruitment Administrators Association (WALRAA) for several years, and served on the Board of Directors for three years, where she was elected as Secretary in 2018 and as Vice President in 2019.

Caroline received her B.S. in Human Environmental Sciences from The University of Alabama.
