Scott advises attorneys across a wide range of practice areas and is a market leader in investment management, private equity, venture capital, emerging growth, tax, executive compensation, and employee benefits.

Scott is a trusted market expert and career advisor for partners, senior in-house counsel, business leaders, and associates.  He has represented an incredibly wide range of attorneys in connection with career transitions into the world’s leading financial services institutions, public companies, and law firms. Scott is a frequent public speaker on issues pertaining to attorney career management and legal hiring.

Scott practiced law at a top investment management and emerging company law firm in Boston, and at a major international law firm in New York. His legal practice focused on advising investment fund and emerging company clients in connection with fund formation, ongoing operations, regulatory matters, and strategic investments. Scott also represented a wide range of private investment fund investors, including private foundations, non-profits, pension plans, and sovereign wealth funds. Prior to founding Empire Search Partners, Scott was a director at another leading legal search firm in New York.

Scott received an LL.M. in Taxation and his J.D., with honors, from the University of Florida College of Law. He earned an undergraduate degree in Business Administration and Finance, with high honors, from the University of Florida.
